I began painting when I was five or six. Our father, who loved to paint and create, would have us all paint on Sunday afternoons. Whenever we went on canoe trips we would bring our paints along. I took art lessons in high school and college, but never pursued art as a career.
In my early twenties I stopped painting and devoted my time to my career and the farm.
I retired in my mid 50's and now joyfully dedicate my time to the farm and water coloring.
My re-entry into art was started when I began taking lessons from Theresa Quirk. That also began our weekly water coloring sessions. Two years ago I took a water color workshop given by Joel Popadics, and afterward began attending his weekly water color workshops.
I have had paintings place First in the Water Color media group at the Annual Judged Art Show at St. Catherine's of Bologna, Ringwood, NJ in 2013 and 2014, and had a water color painting selected as Best in Show at the annual RMAA juried art show in the fall of 2014 at Ringwood Manor, Ringwood, NJ.
